It is another step forward in our commitment to the care, wellbeing and safety of everyone who stays at Truliving.
What does it mean to be a Brain-Protected Space?
The Brain-Protected Space certification recognises organisations whose teams have received specific training to identify the main symptoms of a stroke and understand how to respond quickly in the event of a possible emergency..
At Truliving Vallecas, the team has completed this training to recognise the main warning signs and understand the steps required to activate the appropriate assistance protocol correctly.
Because when it comes to stroke, time is especially important. Recognising the symptoms and seeking help as quickly as possible can make a significant difference.
When it comes to stroke, every minute counts
A stroke occurs when the blood flow to the brain is suddenly disrupted, either because a blood vessel becomes blocked or because it ruptures. It is a medical emergency in which acting quickly is essential.
The main warning signs include sudden weakness or numbness in the face, arm or leg, particularly on one side of the body; difficulty speaking or understanding speech; changes in vision; problems with balance or coordination; or the sudden onset of a severe headache.
If any of these symptoms appear, it is important to seek medical assistance immediately by calling 112, even if the symptoms seem to disappear.
From that point, emergency services assess the situation and, when appropriate, activate the Stroke Code, a healthcare coordination protocol designed to speed up treatment and transfer to the appropriate hospital.
Recognising the warning signs and acting quickly is therefore the first step towards ensuring medical assistance is activated as soon as possible.
A team prepared to respond
The Truliving Vallecas team is in daily contact with the people staying in the building.
